SpeedStitch Ltd. is an award-winning, family-run business specialising in embroidery & print for all industries and events, and with over 20 years’ experience in the school uniform business. 

We are currently seeking 1 full-time member of staff to join our team.
Areas of responsibility will include personal dealings with customers at our counter, email and telephone correspondence and ensuring customer orders are fulfilled efficiently. Stock movement and replenishment (physically and on internal system). 
An exciting opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in retail sales/merchandising, or for someone interested in the areas of graphic design/fashion who might want to gain experience in this environment.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting our Director in charge of School Uniform/Schools with stock management/replenishment, leaflets, product data/website, staff rotas
  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times to ensure and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Ensuring the shop is tidy and visually pleasing, making sure our products are immaculately displayed and replenished efficiently
  • Liaising with Directors and colleagues to ensure smooth management of stock levels
  • Communicating proactively with system support teams to ensure customers are getting an efficient and positive experience at all times
  • Assisting Workshop Supervisor with deliveries and movement of stock physically and on the system
  • Accurately operating the tills ensuring credit card and cash payments are processed efficiently and without error
  • Excellent product knowledge
  • To ensure that good communication with colleagues is maintained
  • To foster a team working attitude and be open to constructive feedback

Our ideal candidate should:

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Be willing to help with deliveries, moving and lifting stock around
  • Be available over the entire ‘back to school’ season

Positions you will apply for:

  • Customer service/sales - Greeting customers at the counter and serving them with their required items of uniform, gaining excellent product knowledge to give the best service possible to our customers and to increase sales.
  • Web Order Picker - Finding your way around the stockroom, accurately picking and packing the correct items customers have ordered online. Tidying away stock and stocking up the shelves.
  • Goods-in / Dispatch - Checking off deliveries and allocating for Embroidery/Print. Arranging fullfilment of outstanding orders.
  • Stock Room Assistant - Keeping an organised and tidy stockroom, methodical checking of all product lines to ensure availability at all times. Rasing stock orders.
  • Production table, assisting with quality control - finishing of garments, removing backing, trimming, steaming, folding, packing and labelling

  • Must be fully available between 17th August and 9th September

Position: Embroidery Machine Operator
We are currently seeking an experienced/trainee embroidery machinist to join our team - open to shift work/flexible hours/part-time or full-time. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for embroidery including; counting, removing packaging, framing garments, changing thread colours and loading designs
  • Running up to 2x 8-head Tajima Embroidery Machines at a time
  • Monitoring the embroidery process on your machine
  • Removing frames ready for cleaning
  • Performing regular machine maintenance and reporting any issues
  • Inventory checks
  • Working accurately and efficiently to strict production deadlines
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by management

A successful applicant should:

  • Have enthusiasm for developing process and product knowledge
  • Have high levels of concentration
  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Have strong verbal and written communication and organisational skills
  • Be experienced in using multi-head embroidery machines or have a committed desire to learn
  • Be practical and methodical
  • Be reliable and responsible
  • Be clean and tidy
  • Be able to work independently
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Be used to working to deadlines

 

Position: Senior Embroidery Machine Operator

We are currently seeking an experienced senior embroidery machinist to join our team on a full-time basis.
 
**IMPORTANT: Please only apply if:
  • you are EXPERIENCED IN OPERATING INDUSTRIAL MULTI-HEAD EMBROIDERY MACHINES (Tajima preferable, or similar) min 3 years experience
  • you are willing and able to work under pressure with strict production deadlines
  • you can attend an interview at our premises in Walthamstow which will include a trial run on Tajima embroidery machines to show the extent of your experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the embroidery machine area, including organising jobs and machine operators to ensure smooth, efficient production
  • Preparing for embroidery including counting, removing packaging, framing garments, changing thread colours and loading designs
  • Running 2 x 8-head machines simultaneously
  • Monitoring the embroidery process on your machines
  • Removing frames ready for cleaning
  • Performing regular machine maintenance and reporting any issues
  • Inventory checks
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by management

A successful applicant should:

  • Be experienced and confident using Tajima (or similar) multi-head machines and Wilcom (or similar) software
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time whilst operating machinery
  • Have high levels of concentration
  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Have strong verbal and written communication and organisational skills
  • Be practical and methodical
  • Be reliable and responsible
  • Be clean and tidy
  • Be able to work independently and use initiative to get the jobs done accurately and efficiently
  • Have enthusiasm for developing process and product knowledge
  • Be a key team player and willing to direct/train less experienced colleagues as required
  • Have computer skills
  • Be used to working to strict production deadlines

Experience:

  • Multi-head Embroidery Machinist: minimum 3 years (required)
